She seeketh wool and flax and worketh willingly with her hands. --Proverbs 31:13

Well, I have been trying to post an update for a long time, and blogger is giving me fits. If it doesn't clear up soon, I will be trying to find a new home or just giving up. I just don't have time to post when it takes me all day, running back and forth to the computer to get one post done.

Anyway, there has been a lot going on over here at my house. We went to visit my sister in VA, and while we were there we went to see the Smithsonian and the Washington Monument. We walked and Walked and walked.

We had a lot of fun at Jodis, and I am so glad I got to see her. Thank you for a wonderful trip Jodi. I'll never be able to say thank you enough.

I have been doing a lot of knitting and some spinning. I have knit a lot of fingerless mittens, and a set of fingerless gloves with mitten toppers for Sean. I've dones some felting, and unravled a lot of sweaters for the yarn. I just don't have time to post individual pictures of all these things, so a collage will have to do, and then hopefully we will have a return to regular blogging.

Then of course, there was Christmas. Now, everyone got pretty much what they wanted this year, including me. I got the Knit Picks Option set. My husband is a complete stinker, and told me repeatedly that he wasn't getting it for me, that he couldn't afford it, etc etc. Then in my stocking I got 2 sets of cables and he told me that the rest of the set was backordered. Then we went to the in-laws for dinner, and there was a package for me under their tree. It was the case and the rest of the set! I was thrilled, and I love it. I need some more pockets but other than that, it's perfect. Here are the fingerless mittens I knit for myself before Christmas, out of my own handspun, hand dyed wool. They are so soft and cushy.

And, for those interested in my weight loss, I have lost a total of 25.something lbs. I'm down a couple of pants sizes, so I feel like I am doing pretty good, although I didn't do as well over Christmas as I had hoped. It was harder than I thought it was going to be. I am taking comfort in that fact that I did much better this year than I would have done in the past. I had a few cookies and some candy, but I didn't eat all the candy and all the cookies.

It's so good to have you back to blogging, Jan. I really missed you while you were gone.
Congratulations on the weight loss, too!
I'm sure you enjoyed Washington. We were there last year and really had a good time.

Your trip sounds wonderful. We lived in Virginia for a short time, but never made it to D.C. Congratulations on your weight loss! What a great way to start the new year.
