Order

I spent some time over the last few days bringing some order to the chaos of my fiber activities. I realized that the only way I was going to succeed in getting my yarns to turn out the way I would like is if I had a way to replicate what I had done already, so that I spent less time repeating color experiments, and also less time repeating mistakes. So I organized a zipper bound notebook that I had laying around, with areas for patterns printed off the internet, my designs, fiber samples and yarn samples. I found some plastic pages that were designed to hold photos, three photos to a side of a page. These are perfect for holding a 3X5 index card with a sample or two of yarn and information about the yarn on it. The system still isn't perfect, but it's better.

We got our income tax refund, and so I also have plans to order some stuff, chief among them a drumcarder. It's an expensive step, but I think necessary at this point. I am leaning towards a Deb's Deluxe by Patrick Green. I need to order some fiber as well.

I have been really making a lot of progress on the re-knit of the cabled cardigan. I have done 83 rows since I had to rip it out, much faster than the first time around. Soon I will be done with the decreases and ready to cast off for the arm holes, and then soon after that should have the back completely done. I can't wait. I think the rest of the sweater is going to go much quicker. I am sure you all will be glad to not have to read about my struggles with it anymore!

I have been struggling to get order in my mind this week as well. I keep getting upset about Dad. Every time I think I have it all sorted out, something happens to jumble it up again. I get irritated with Sean, he can lay down and drop off to sleep in about 5 seconds. When I lay down, my mind just starts to whirl. I have repeatedly handed it to the Lord, only to pick it up again as soon as my head hits the pillow. I know it's going to get better with time, I just want it to be better now. I keep praying for peace, and I know that I will have it, in the Lord's time.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Jan your sweater is really beautiful. And I'm so envious of your organization system! I am so organized in my dreams. But in real life.... no. It will happen though. Prayers for you to find peace about your Dad and whatever else might be keeping you up at night. (((Hugs)))

You really have made good progress on the sweater!

Peace will come. Embrace the good days and be patient with yourself on the bad days.
