She seeketh wool and flax and worketh willingly with her hands. --Proverbs 31:13

Dad passed away last Monday, October 3. He had a stroke last Sunday, and then went on home.

There are moments when I can be glad; that he didn't suffer, that there was a quick end to the pain, that he wasn't trapped in that bed for long, that he was saved after a period of time when he had drifted away from the Lord, that he is in Heaven, face to face with Jesus. I'm so sure it is wonderful there. There are moments when I can almost hear him saying, "Suck it up Jan, that's enough, no more need to cry now."

Mostly though, I'm just sad.

Knowing that someone is in a better place, does not change the fact that you miss them. You can be sad for yourself and still happy for your dad. Look after yourself !

So very sorry to hear of your loss. It sounds like your family and your faith will see you through this challenging time. Embrace your sadness and let the tears come when they will, knowing that your dad will always be a part of you.
