Well, I thought today I would tell you a spinning related story from vacation. In this picture is my mom (Hi Mom!) and my neice Katey. Doesn't she have lovely hair? Katey wanted to try to spin, so I sat her up at the wheel and we quickly discovered that her legs were too short to pedal and try to spin at the same time. So Katey was pedaling and I was drafting. Things were going along fine when all of a sudden, her beautiful curly hair just curled right up with the wool, and into the orifice it went. Katey was not amused. I however, laughed and laughed. She is so funny when she is perturbed.

Here is a picture from the front. She is such a cutey. So later on that same day, my son, Chad was sitting on the porch talking to her, and he said "Boy Katey, you have beautiful hair" (She gets this a lot) "You know, my mom could make you a pair of socks out of your hair" Now this was after the hair in orifice situation, so she was not happy with the idea. And said so. Loudly. At which point Chad, who has his dad's sense of humor, said. "Well look at my hair. I used to have hair way down my back, and mom cut it off and made me a fine pair of socks." At which point, Katey got pretty upset. I just couldn't believe he said that, it was just too funny. She did ask to spin again later though, so I don't think we scarred her for life.

I have 4 neices and 2 nephews, and at Grandmas I got 3 of them to try to spin, as well as my sister Nikki and cousin Jill below. Everyone did really well, and maybe later they will pick up knitting or spinning or something else. I just hope they don't take up the razor scooter like my mom. She is just crazy about that thing (okay not really, but this is my favorite picture from vacation, without a doubt, and I had to put it in here somehow. If you don't hear from me again, it is because she has found a way to kill me from halfway across the country).
